Just wondering. I hear a lot that people get tongue rings for mainly sexual purposes. Last month I got a tongue ring and it had nothing to do with that. I just always wanted one. So I just want to know what is it that people think when they hear talk or something that has to do with a tongue ring?
To add to what some said. My teeth are fine so I am not sure about what the myth is. Also, if your tongue still hurts after a couple of weeks something is probably wrong.I hurt a bit in the first couple of days but stopped hurting after about a week. It doesnt really bother me to eat either. Rarely i might accidently bite down on the ring depending on what i am eating but it doesnt hurt or anything.
Well if someone mentions a tongue ring or stud or whatever to me, I think eew because i think its a bit gross and ugly

Sexual thoughts come to my head when someone mentions tongue rings. Why else would you put it there you can’t see it.
I just think it’s another fad that is going to date leaving you feeling silly and with a hole in your tongue!
The first thing that comes to my mind is … Oh my Gosh.. was it painful?

I think a lot of the sexual assumptions and MYTHS about mssed up teeth and physiological hazards are just old tabboos, and toung rings are becoming much more popular, and these musconceptions are fading.

Cool! Especially if it was just for you. I think it looks cool, but there is the damage to teeth thing that I am not a 100% about.
I think about how hard it is to eat with one! I had one for a couple of months and ended up taking it out because eating was so difficult (and sometimes painful!)
