I have my VCH done, as well!
I have another week before I can change it up and do something fun with it.
“angie<3's" idea of going to your piercer to get it changed is totally untrue. My piercer is well educated and completely OCD about cleanliness/healing time/changing jewelry, etcetera. He simply told me after 4 weeks I can change it myself and buy whatever jewelry I'd like, as long as I don't purchase "junk jewelry" or "garbage jewlery."
It's not a difficult task to change it. If you do, however, feel uncomfortable or scared to change it on your own, go back to where you got it done and have him/her change it for you.
They need curved barbells, and if you need a better look, take it out, check it out, and put it back in (it'll give you practice!) or call your piercer to double check what he/she used. Also, it SHOULD be a 14gauge unless you asked for something smaller or bigger. 14 g is the typical size.
I actually have a ring though mine, i find it sits better with me, but i might just be weird, lol. And it depends on whether its a vertical or horizontal piercing. A friend of mine has a horizontal done, and she can only have a barbell in, a straight one.
If its the starter jewelry, I would go back to the piercer and have him change it for you.
http://www.bodyartforms.com is a great website for body jewelry. Its where I get all of mine.
Most people stick with curved barbells as they’re suited to most peoples anatomy
Here’s a store, it’s easily one of the best out there: http://www.bodyartforms.com/products.asp?jewelry=curved&filter=customyes
Yours will probably be 14g and to get the length you measure the length (in mm) between the entry and exit points of the piercing
