i hid mine from my mom when i was in high school for exactly ONE month before she saw it… i laughed one day and she was like “WHAT IS IN YOUR MOUTH!!!”
trust me…you get used to it being there after a while and its like a part of you, its not something your always going to remember to hide…
but what are they gonna do? Rip it out? my parents got over it…
you can also buy Clear balls to screw on and off regular barbells….unlike the plastic retainers… it also works…. thats what i use for work…the plasic retainers irratate my tounge because i need real metal in my mouth… just like you need real metal earings otherwise your ears get all sore and infected
you can keep your mouth closed, and talk with a scowl to hide your tongue

I did for work. I put in a retainer. They are plastic and flat. It worked. No problem.
