There is no law saying you can't have body jewelry when visiting a jail or prison. Besides, people with metal plates or pins in their body are allowed in all the time. You may, however, be pulled aside while they pat your down, use a metal wand, or even take you into private for a strip search to assure you are not carrying any contraband. You should call ahead and find out the procedure for the jail you wish to visit, and show up early to allow extra time for any extra procedures you may be required to endure for the sake of your visit.

You are going to a place where the law sets the rules, there will be no exception, it can be scary just visiting. In these places they don't have one rule for some and then not for others. Take nothing in with you that you don't need, cos you will only have to put it in the locker and they will have a master key. Their job is to keep the prisoners in and to keep the place safe. Good luck on your visit.

The best thing to do is just use common sense and a little respect for the jail and just leave it all at home until after your visit. This way there will be no confusion and no hassle also I'm sure the piercing holes won't close up in the time it takes you visit your friend.

It would be healthy for you to let it all close up. Ask an acupuncturist about this. Our energy meridians run up & down our body & to put holes in & jewlery sounds really bad for your health. I think you should not expect others to make exceptions for you. This is an opportunity for you to listen to a message that is good for you.

I guarantee you will not get any exceptions visiting at the jail. I used to visit a friend and people would be clogging up the line at the metal detector taking off all their jewelry. If you can, replace the jewelry with temporary plastic pieces. Otherwise, if you can't make it through the metal detector you won't be allowed it.
